About Our Staff
Head of School/Infant Teacher- Kathy Raymond

Kathy is finishing her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University and is currently awaiting teacher licensure
from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is currently certified with the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and a
member of the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).  Kathy has an extensive background in management
and customer service and has also been teaching preschool for the past
two years.  She has been a nanny and Girl Scout troop leader.  
She believes
a teacher along with  family are the touchstones toward success for each and every child.   It is Kathy's personal goal to
help every child feel successful and reach their full potential.




Program Director:  Jen Curtis

Jen is currently in her last semester at Lesley University; as a candidate for her Early Childhood Development degree.  She has fulfilled
the requirements necessary for the Massachusetts Teachers Licensure and awaits her certification. Jen received her Director
certification from the Department of Early Education and Care in 2007. Jen was a nanny for over fifteen years and spent eight years
teaching preschool children.  She is a National Association for the Education of Young Children(NAEYC) member and mother of one.  
One of Jen's steadfast beliefs is: "Teachers are just one of the tools that help children learn and grow".



Toddler Lead Teacher:  Jennifer Morse

Jennifer graduated from the American Montessori Society’s Northeast Montessori Institute in June, 2001.  She began her teaching
career in 1998 as an Assistant Toddler Teacher in the Montessori day school in Acton, MA.  After relocating to Cape Cod, Jennifer spent
two years as a Lead Teacher at Sandwich Montessori School.  She was instrumental in planning the toddler curriculum for the startup of
Montessori Beginnings in September, 2004.  Jennifer received her Director 1 certification from the Department of Early Education and
Care in March 2008.  She and her husband reside in Yarmouthport and have two grown daughters.



Toddler Lead Teacher:  Melissa Williamson

Melissa has been working with children as a mother, family daycare provider and teacher for over fourteen years.  She began her career
in the buying department of Filene's Basement, but found herself drawn toward the wonderful world of young children.  Melissa attended
Salem State College, studying education and is now attending Curry College.  She will complete her degree in psychology by May 2009.  
Melissa is certified as both a preschool and infant/toddler teacher through the Department of Early Education and Care.  She is a
member of Phi Lambda Theta, a national honor society for educators.  Melissa and her husband Bob, live in Sandwich, Ma. along with
their two children and two dogs.





Toddler Lead Teacher:  Chris DeAngelis

Christine has been with Montessori Beginnings for years.  She started as a parent, when her 3 month old daughter began attending, and
is now a teacher since her daughter graduated and moved on to a Montessori preschool through elementary school.  She has her
bachelor's degree in developmental economics and is currently working on her master's in education.  Christine has embraced the
Montessori philosophy and has modeled her home pursuant to Dr. Montessori's work.  She started the parent's lending library here at
Montessori Beginnings, and is a member of the American Montessori Society, NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young
Children), and is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an international honors society.  Christine believes that a child's educational
experience should help them develop their own unique personality, become socially and emotionally well-adjusted, and facilitate their
intellectual growth so that they may reach their full capacity as compassionate, intelligent and self-reliant human beings.  




Infant Lead Teacher:  Stephanie Barrett

Stephanie has been with Montessori Beginnings since December 2004; just three months after our opening.  She studied early
childhood education for two years at Cape Cod Community College and went on to Fisher College. Stephanie is EEC (MA Department of
Early Education and Care) teacher certified.
 She is awaiting her Lead Teacher certification.  She comes from a large family - the
youngest of eight with seventeen nieces and nephews!  Stephanie wishes to continue her education in early childhood; and is furthering
her Montessori training
as well.  She plans to continue her career working with children and is thrilled to have started it here at
Montessori Beginnings!
